WHO ARE LADMA?
Ladma are a three-man alternative comedy group from Brighton. Their style has been likened to Chris Morris, Armando Iannucci and The League of Gentlemen. They have also been likened to Hollyoaks… but that was more than likely due to an administrative error. The Ladmas are: Dan Smith (23), Chris Marshall (23) and Pete Allen (24).

“priceless mockumentary genius…comic gold” Three Weeks

Ladma were formed at the end of 2006 with the purpose of entering Brighton Film Festival’s 36-Hour Rush Competition. Their first short film – Sebastien Foucault – won the Jury Prize (Brighton Film Festival), Best Comedy (Cotswold Film Festival) and was featured on Myspace. They have had films screened at a number of film festivals including The End of the Pier International Film Festival, Leith Film Festival, Stamford Film Festival, The Phase4Fiction Festival and the Portobello Film Festival. They are also due to appear in upcoming feature Ambleton Delight.

“bloody good show” Current T.V

In October 2007 Ladma won Current T.V’s Comedy Competition for their spoof Channel 4 celebrity ident, Pet Hates. In 2008 they completed a commissioned mini-series for the channel, Jackwert. Ladma are currently working with the BBC on Teethgrinder, a viral-based comedy show. They are also developing a project with ScreenPlay Productions.

“They flirt, faux-innocently, with hideous bad taste... hilariously inappropriate” Chortle.co.uk

Ladma have performed live comedy at a number of festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Brighton Fringe Festival, Freshmeat Festival and Hull Comedy Festival. Their live show – Ladma vs. The World – sold-out at the Brighton Fringe Festival and received a four star review from Three Weeks at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Ladma continue to perform regularly around the country. Pete and Dan are also commissioned writers for the satirical stage show the Treason Show.
